Senior Consultant (multiple disciplines)

As a result, we are looking to expand our Russian & Kazakhstan operations across a range of divisions.If you are an experienced recruitment professional, either currently specialising in the legal sector or a similar profession, you could be part of these exciting plans.

Purpose of the job:

To understand and match the needs of our clients and candidates to provide quality tailored recruitment services whilst continually meeting target and hiring and mentoring a junior consultants. To be considered a market expert in their field and be recruiter of choice for key clients. To lead by example and mentor junior consultants and to support Director in the management of research.

Sales Activities:

  • Leading fee earner within the business, generating consistent levels of revenue in line with your targets.
  • Develop consistent new business and develop existing business with clients.
  • Meet sales/NFI targets in line with the business plan
  • Conduct regular client visits – new and continuing – identify and follow up business leads
  • Position Laurence Simons to ensure the team is invited to pitch for targeted PSLs
  • Write and place job advertisements
  • Regularly wins retained or exclusive roles

Client Management:

  • Advise clients on suitable recruitment strategy - contingency, advertising, search or retained assignments.
  • Maintain highest level of quality when interacting with clients.
  • Obtain references from clients and candidates
  • To be working on exclusive or retained assignments throughout the financial year
  • Work closely with clients, identify their needs and provide clear timescales and feedback on progress of completing assignments
  • Qualify job specification / salary information and record accurate and comprehensive job description – check info / client requirements in line with key processes and legislation
  • Network internally and externally with clients
  • Benchmark and gather market intelligence for clients – salary, availability, candidate pool, industry activity
  • Write and place advertisements, with support of marketing
  • Conduct regular client meetings (travel where needed) with new and established clients to progress relationship

Candidate Management:

  • Develop strong network of talent
  • Update and develop client ‘bibles’
  • Candidate management– keep in regular contact to review progress and performance
  • Carry our regular targeted headhunting relevant to your clients requirements
  • Build market maps of your specialist market area
  • Meet (where possible) and pre-screen candidates before their interview for suitability and preparation on behalf of the client
  • Coach and direct candidates on interview skills
  • Identify temporary or interim candidates with relevant consultant to offer full candidate options to client
  • When relevant introduce candidates to new clients to place Laurence Simons in their recruitment plans
  • Shortlist only relevant CVs, typically 3 – 6 per role
  • Manage candidates' expectations from the first call, ensuring you have all the information required to manage the candidate throughout the process
  • Selling opportunities in depth to candidates
  • Manage every aspect of the process including offer management and dealing with counter offers
  • Negotiate best contract representing both the client and candidate interests

Team Management:

  • Support Director with internal recruitment, identifying competitor consultants suitable to the business
  • Mentor new hires and junior consultants in line with objectives set
  • Lead by example
  • Support management of team research and give clear instructions for each assignment given
